Beckett was born weighing a whopping 10 pounds! Go mama! Even though he was still so young, he was in the mists of a growth spurt already & would have gladly skipped the photoshoot to just hangout nursing all day! We had other plans for him! He slept for a bit, but was awake most of the time. I caught a scream at the end that I just had to share! Newborns are silly little things! Madden is a great big brother who is very excited to have his birthday party this coming weekend! Looks like this family has a lot of great things to celebrate!!!
I met up with Audrey & Joel at Northwest College where they met for the first time 16 years ago. The weather was unpredictable but thankfully stayed dry for us! Audrey & Joel...and of course this cute doggy Molly, were so awesome. We laughed the entire time & that is the best way to spend doing a shoot! Audrey is due with a baby boy, Cole, in July & she is so tiny! I can't get over it! I am so excited to meet & photography baby Cole when he comes! That also means that it will be finally be warm outside! Yay! Congrats you two!
Back in November I did Maliha & Turab's engagement pictures & last week they had their engagement party. It was awesome & so different than anything that I have ever done before. As Maliha said "It is very dramatic." and she wasn't kidding. They have about 100 people there & SO much food! Despite the rain, they still had part of it outside. For those of you who have never been to an Indian Engagement party before it sort of reminds me of an American Wedding in a way. Turab was up front & Maliha walked down the aisle. They also have a ring ceremony but it is just him presenting her with a ring. Everyone was giving them gifts & we took a million group shots. A lot of people came from out of town & you could really tell that these two were loved!! It was awesome & I am excited to be photographing their wedding next summer!

3 years ago I shot my first solo wedding & it was for my cousin Katie. We are about a month & a half apart in age & grew up together, right next door to each other at that! As kids were did a lot together. On our first day of Kindergarten we never got off at our stop & ended up back at the bus station. It wasn't until our bus driver went to clean the bus did he find us. lol We celebrated birthdays together, went to Drives ED together & graduated together. Now, all these years later, Katie is pregnant with her first baby, a girl, who they are naming Allison. Katie is in town for a week from Alabama where she lives with her husband who is in the Military. I wanted to make sure that before she left we did a Maternity shoot. The only pictures any of us have really seen were pictures from a cell phone. I couldn't stand for that. So this morning we ventured in the woods along the trails we played on as kids. With her sister (and my kids) in tow off we went with only a few little sprinkles of rain. About 4 blocks from home we turned around to hear this sound only to see sheets of rain coming at us. The 5 of us ran across the street to some trees to take cover. Hoping it would stopped, or at least slow down, we waited for a few minutes. No such luck. So we ran back in the pouring rain laughing the entire time. Everyone was soaked from head to toe but hey, it is a really funny story to tell! Another one to add to the books! Congrats Katie! I can't wait to meet Baby Allison!

Every girl dreams of their wedding day since they were a little girl. They want it to be prefect & they want to have great pictures to remember later. Unfortunately, Amanda did not have those great pictures. She had a few that were salvageable but nothing worthy to hang on the wall. She had no pictures of her makeup, first dance or even the coveted first kiss. How depressing is that? So she contacted me to redo her wedding photos. She got dressed up in her amazing dress, got her hair & make up done & we headed out on that beautiful Saturday afternoon to redo her day. Every second of the day was so much fun from start to finish. It ended up with Amanda getting into the lake at Loring Park. She was a real trooper! Congrats Amanda you looked absolutely amazing!
